About Qutadghubilig Journal
As an international, peer-reviewed publication, the Kutadgu Bilig Journal focuses on the social sciences and humanities. It is published annually by the Kutadgu Bilig Institute of the Uyghur Academy. The primary mission of this journal is to ensure the continuous development of the Uyghur literary language—a language that holds a distinguished and uninterrupted written history among Turkic peoples, dating back to the era of Old Turkic inscriptions. Furthermore, the journal serves as a professional platform for the dissemination and discussion of research conducted in the Uyghur language across various disciplines. It seeks to foster intellectual engagement among the younger generation and provide the community with current scholarship, news, and original research in the fields of Uyghur language and culture. Beyond original research articles, the journal highlights the work of prominent Turkologists, Uyghur scholars, and researchers, documenting their academic contributions to the history and culture of Turkic peoples. We also welcome contributions that offer critical insights into scholarly works, ongoing research projects, and academic centers dedicated to Uyghur studies. To ensure the highest academic standards, all submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous peer-review process conducted by two or more experts in the field. As an Open Access publication, the journal is free to readers and does not charge submission or processing fees. We are honored to present this inaugural issue—the result of the dedicated efforts of Uyghur scholars for the benefit of our community and the broader academic world. We welcome your support and value your feedback. It is our hope that this journal will serve as a foundational resource not only for Uyghur studies but for the field of Turkology as a whole.
